Hi — I’m Ashley Salem, a Seattle-based photographer, incoming senior at Gonzaga University, and founder of Shots By Salem. I specialize in sports, senior, family, and portrait photography, focusing on authentic, documentary-style storytelling that captures real personality, emotion, and connection.
Alongside running my business, I work as a Creative Media Intern in collegiate athletics, creating photo and video content in fast‑paced, live-event environments. That experience shapes my approach — blending creative direction with a strong understanding of branding, audience, and visual impact.
I’m also expanding my work in weddings and absolutely love documenting full wedding weekends — from welcome parties to the moments that unfold on the day itself. How do I book a photography session with you?
Booking a photography session is easy. Simply reach out to me by scrolling below to the inquiry form. Let me know the type of session you're interested in... and any more pressing details! Give me about 24-48 business hours to respond, and we will get your process started!
When will I receive my images?
I really value sending images back at their highest quality. The photo session is far from done when me & you depart. With that being said, about 3 weeks return time dependent on the amount of images and event. Once you have booked with me, your contract will specify when photos will be returned.
Will you help with pre-session planning?
Absolutely! Just know from the second you inquire with me, you are in for a treat. Photography sessions involve immense planning. I have a personalized location guide that you can look through, and I share my pricing guide. I send steps along the way to make sure we get everything ready for the big day!
What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?
If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location. I want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and I am flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances - more information on this stated in my contract.
